Pénélope Bagieu
As a little girl, Penelope Bagieu used to contemplate two careers : Queen of America or illustrator. When she suddenly realized that the United States were not a monarchy, she took to drowing day and night so as to forget this painful disappointment.
From then on, drawing became a compulsion, a way of life for Penelope. Always have a pencil at hand (the rest doesn't matter - a purchase ticket, a tablecloth or a wall will do), keep your eyes and ears wide open and capture every moment, attitude and detail of daily life.
In 2002, she entered the ENSAD (school of decorative arts) in Paris to test her vocation. After a stint at the Central St Martins School in London and a crush for animation, Penelope decided to devote herself entirely to illustration, developing a simple and sensitive hand, although never lacking a touch of humour. And somewhere at the back of her mind there still is this dream of conquering America...
