Serge Bloch
Illustrator, sometimes author of books and cartoons for little ones and grown-ups. Art director.
I illustrate cultural and social topics for daily newspapers in France (Libération, Psychologies, La Vie, Enjeux-les Echos, Stratégies, le Nouvel
Observateur, Marianne) and the United States (Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, NY Times ( and Magazine),Time magazine, New York Magazine, Boston Globe, GQ, Los Angeles Times, Bloomberg, Oxford University Press, Scholastic, National Geographic Magazine, Selling Power, Money magazine, The Ecologist (GB)).
I also worked in institutional communication for the Festival de l'Oh (a festival about water), the French ministry of Health, the European Council as well as for pharmaceutical companies.
I also worked in advertisement: Coca cola (packaging Lemon&nada, Naranja & nada …in Spain, Belgium ,brazil, Japan, Poland, Turkey…), Hermes, Publicis, Mondial Assistance( insurance), French ministery of ecology, RATP ( Subway of Paris), Ice breakers ( packaging of candies, USA), London Subway, Alsthom, etc…
I can best define my work as "drawing with ideas," and I like to remain straightforward and unassuming so that the reader can grasp the ideas right away, without there being too many layers of style. I also try to throw in some humor
It can be called modest art.
I’m sure that a second MOMA will be built one day "the Museum of Modest Art" a much smaller museum than the original one, where such work will be displayed!
